The Lost Art of Working Together

Some of the best learning of my career didn’t happen in meeting rooms, it happened at 30,000 feet.
Sitting side-by-side with my manager on the way to a client, laptops open, polishing a storyline in real time. Tweaking headlines, tightening logic, killing weak slides.
He would suggest changes… or simply rewrite them in front of me.
Those flights were priceless. No formal training could match that level of pace, pressure, and proximity.
I’m not sure how often that happens now. Remote work made collaboration easier but apprenticeship harder.
Great mentors don’t give instructions. They give examples.
If you’re lucky, you’re sitting close enough to notice.
